Understanding the composition of Europa's ice shell has both geophysical and astrobiological implication as the impurity content in the ice effects the mechanical, thermal, and dielectric properties of the ice as well as the transport of materials between the surface and ocean. My work focuses on creating high resolution numerical models which accurately simulate the entrainment of salts and other impurities in planetary ices.
